What you can expect

Let us take you back 100 years & 27 miles from Waikiki to our exclusive beachfront property on the shores of West Oahu. Since 1976, over 3 million visitors to our Islands have become a part of the Germaine’s Ohana. Germaine’s Luau has been acclaimed as America’s Best Luau in “America’s Best 100” and has been filmed by ABC’s “Good Morning America”. Come to where you will still experience a traditional luau that recaptures the “Spirit of Old Hawaii”.

You will leave with fond memories of what a true luau is all about, a one of a kind experience not found anywhere else in the world.

Upon arrival, all of our guests are traditionally welcomed with a Hawaiian Shell Lei. The sounding of the conch shell announces the beginning of the evening’s festivities! Picture taking opportunities await as the Royal Court of Polynesia makes its entrance. As the imu (underground oven) is uncovered, the savoury aroma of the Kalua Pua’a (roasted pig) – your main course of the evening – reminds us that dinner is soon to be served.

Our Hawaiian – American Dinner Meal features and array of tasty traditional island favourites to please even the less adventurous.

The night is filled with beauty, colour, and excitement as our multi-talented kane (men) and wahine (women) take you through a direct, action-packed journey throughout the Islands of Tahiti, Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand as well as the romantic hula of Hawaii.

This was our second time to Germaine’s Luau. The fist time was 19 years ago and it wasn’t a good experience. We were at the last table to go up to the buffet table and our food was cold. We went back this time because my daughter wanted to see the pig raised from the Imu. I made sure that we got the Plumeria package without transportation since we rented a car. We were seated in the front row of picnic benches but off to the right of the stage. The Plumeria package with transportation were given front row center. With the Plumeria package we were given priority seating in the bleachers to watch them unveil the cooked pig. Another nice feature of this package is that we were served our dinner and if we wanted seconds, there was a special line just for the Plumeria package. We also received a special gift when we signed in. If you go m to Germaine’s Luau, get the Plumeria package!

The bus driver was great. While I understand we did not pay as much as the others I thought it was sad that they turned the lights off when we were still eating. We had just got through the line and would have loved to see my food.
