Overview

Delve into the history of German-Era Qingdao and its lasting legacy of finely preserved architecture, spa areas, and of course the introduction of Tsingtao Beer.

The tour starts atop Signal Hill, which boasts the best view of Qingdao's Old Town, and proceeds to a walking tour of the Old Town. The tour showcases the  Gothic-style St Michael's Cathedral, the 120-year-old Protestant Church and the Bavarian-style Old Governors Mansion, with a lunch stop at a local food market. 

After lunch, it’s time to learn about the Tsingtao Beer Brewery, which is the perfect place to sample one of the most popular and best-selling beers in the world.
(Fun Fact: The brewery was established by the Germans!)

Finally the tour takes in Badaguan area, a spa village beside the seaside with its international inspired architecture. 

The full tour will take approx. 7 hours and will be with an experienced guide to offer a personalised service

Signal Hill Park with a short uphill 15 minute walk to the top will give you the best view of Old Town Qingdao. Its the best viewpoint to get a birds-eye view of red-roofed villas and greenery.
Qingdao Site Museum of the Former German Governor's Residence

German Governors Mansion, one of the finest examples of colonial-era architecture, with its distinctive Art-Nouveau style. Built at a extravagant price in 1903, its opulence is still on show - we will take a 30 minute tour of the mansion. 
Protestant Church (Jidu Jiaotang)

Protestant Church, built in 1908, the picturesque church has a simple yet beautiful design. It's also has a still-working clock mechanic dated 1909.
Qingdao Beer Museum

The biggest legacy of German rule was no doubt the introduction of the famed Tsingdao Brewary! So,  after lunch we will visit the site for a tour of its museum, where there will be free tasters if desired. The museum tells the  storey of the popularity of this international renowned beer, and will take around 1 hour.
