The Ourika valley is nestled high in the Atlas Mountains to the south of Marrakech. This half-day trip to the Valley is the perfect short escape from the heat and hectic activity of Marrakech.
On the first half hour of the trip the drive will take you along a rather flat plain before the breathtaking views of Berber villages and landscapes begin.
You’ll pass Setti Fatima, a roadside village that hosts a great souk on Mondays. You’ll also be able to appreciate the amount of labour that has been required by the local Berbers to build their small houses on the mountainsides and to construct agricultural terraces to grow crops in a hostile environment.
