What you can expect

Take a tour of Vitoria's historical quarter on a private, half-day walking tour. Start in your hotel or in Virgen Blanca Square and set out with your guide to discover the second-largest Basque city.

This area has preserved the original medieval street design from the 12th century, and many examples of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings are found here.

See the main highlights in the Old Quarter, including Virgen Blanca Square, España Square, Machete Square, Montehermoso Palace, Escoriaza-Esquivel Palace, and Doña Otxanda Tower. Then visit Bendaña Palace, home to the Museum of Archaeology and the Fournier Museum of Playing Cards.

You will also pass by many restaurants and cafes and stop off to try pintxos (a Basque version of tapas) and traditional pastries. There is also the possibility to visit the Old Cathedral, which is currently undergoing restoration, or to tour the city wall.
