This trek starts with a transfer to the trailhead at Río Eléctrico bridge, located 18km to the north of the town. Right from the start we are able to see lots of different glaciers; Marconi, Eléctrico, Cagliero and in the distance, towards Lago del Desierto, the Vespignani glacier. A bit later we leave the forest and end up in a clearing where we can admire in all their splendour the peaks of “S”. We then climb 400m in about an hour until we arrive at Laguna de los Tres. During this steep kilometre up to Laguna de los Tres, the path will be rocky and with steps, and on way up all the time, on arriving at the highest point on the path, we are rewarded by the majestic views of Fitz Roy, the glacier de los Tres and its lagoon. From here we circle Laguna de los Tres and head towards the viewpoint of the Laguna Sucia and its glacier. After a rest and a bite for lunch, we will start the descent and walk back to El Chaltén. From El Chaltén we head off on the Laguna Torre footpath and after a small climb we enter a small ñire wood. From here, the path starts to gain height and straightens up alongside the Fitz Roy River until it arrives at a viewpoint of the river canyon and the Margarita waterfall. After about an hour of walking we arrive at the Mount Torre viewpoint. Here we will make the most of the magnificent views of Mount Torre, the Adela range and glaciers and have a short break. We then walk for 2 hours until we arrive at Laguna Torre. In this section there is always the possibility of spotting a wide range of birds, including the Magellanic woodpecker. It is also the source of the River Fitz Roy. After a rest and lunch at the lagoon, we start the trek back to El Chaltén. Length of hike: 7–8hrs, 18 km return Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch

In the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and after 1 hour surrounded by the quintessential Patagonian steppe, local wildlife and traditional ranches, we’ll reach Punta Bandera where we board the catamaran. The sail begins along the Channel of the Icebergs before entering the Seno Mayo stretch of Lago Argentino (the Argentinian Lake). Our first landing is in Bahía Toro, where we’ll embark on a short, fairly easy trek in the Patagonian Andean Forest, visiting an example of a centennial cherry tree and a stream fed by a 180-metre high and 100-metre wide waterfall. Our second landing sees us walk slightly further, around 1,000 metres but not particularly challenging. Our trek takes us through a beautiful forest with impressive views of the glaciers hanging from the Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro mountains. Enjoy the walkways in front of the Glacier and visit the coffee shops. After returning to the port, the transfer will take us back to your Hotel at El Calafate. End of services.
