Introducing Funchal to the World - Food & Cultural tour

Prepare yourself for a sensory journey across the island. On this 4 hour tour, our qualified local guide will led you on this food,wine and cultural experience trough the streets of Funchal, to off the beaten track places, to taste a variety of local specialities.

All food and drinks are included, children or vegetarians are welcome, small groups are required to keep it conversational. The tour takes place on Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday at 1:00pm, Wednesday at 10:30am/ 5pm and Saturday at 10:30am.

Our tour guide, Ana, was incredible! This tour was a wonderful experience and Ana taught us a lot about Madeira's history. We tried a good variety of food and beverages, with alcohol and without, and the walk took us to some interesting sites. We really enjoyed the farmer's market, and the stroll through the painted doors project. Ana was extremely friendly and attentive, and she did a good job of engaging with all of the tour participants. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone new to Madeira and who wants to get a good introduction to the cuisine, beverages, and history of Madeira.

Outstanding tour & guide! Ana. So passionate about her city! Wonderful stops at tea house with pastries, chocolate shop, famous market/ Mercado, several other stops & ended at restaurant with sampling of traditional Madeira foods & drinks. Well worth the $ for this tour!

A great introduction to the food and wine in this charming city. Our delightful guide introduced us to several Madeira specialties. We started in a local restaurant then moved on to cafes followed by the market ending the tour with poncho in a bar. Perfect four hours!

We tasted a wide variety of local produce, cheeses, meat, chocolate and best pasteis de nata ever! Wine and drinks were also excellent. We went to places we probably wouldn’t have found on our own. Ana our guide gave us lots of information on both the food and drink and the areas we travelled through. The group we were in were also a fun bunch.

Not your typical touristy booking. This was excellent overview of the local available Madeiran cuisine and other tasty offerings. I found the tour to be both entertaining, informative and really fun. Eugenia our tour guide was very informative and made everyone in the group I was with feel comfortable in asking questions and showing us extra bits of information on our walk. I did the 10:30 AM tour and it was a very chill vibe. I'm sure the evening tour takes on a different mood taking place closer to the evening hours.
