What you can expect

Embark on this wonderful journey where you will appreciate the famous and most notable “Tree of Tule,” the millennia-old Ahuehuete with its exceptional trunk diameter—one of the largest trees in the world, boasting an age of 2,000 years and an approximate weight of 630 tonnes. With a bit of imagination, you can visualise various animals and shapes that have formed among the branches and bark of this majestic tree over the years.

We'll continue the adventure by venturing into a place full of colours, the “Zapotec Indigenous Village of Weavers” in Teotitlán del Valle. Here, they craft and paint different types of rugs using ancestral techniques. Immerse yourself in their knowledge through explanations of the marvellous process of creating these unique rugs, where cochineal dye is used to shape their designs, both original and replicas of great painters.

Our next visit takes us to the city of the dead, “MITLA,” the archaeological zone that once was a city inhabited by the Zapotec people. It witnessed the evolution of architecture and diverse ornamentation of its buildings, showcasing extraordinary fretwork decorations on its walls. Explore the artisan shops along the main hallway in front of the church in this magical place, and before you leave, don't forget to savour their typical ice creams.

Concluding your journey on a positive note with the typical drink of this beautiful state, you will learn about the Mezcal manufacturing process and enjoy some of the different flavours offered, from aged Mezcal to various delicious Mezcal creams. “Because for every problem, there's Mezcal, and for every good thing, too”.
