Bayanzag, nicknamed the Flaming Cliffs and made up of red canyons and sand, is a place where you can enjoy the typical Gobi scenery with only rocks, sand, low shrubs, and the blazing sun and wind.
In 1921, an excavation project that began with the discovery of dinosaur eggs by an American scholar named Endry Cherman led to the discovery of numerous dinosaur bones and fossils of dinosaur eggs, which made the area famous.

The Gobi Desert is one of the three largest deserts in the world, along with the Sahara and the Arabian Desert. The Mongolian word ‘Gobi’ means ‘rough land where no grass grows’, a dry desert meaning little water, and the Gobi Desert is a dry desert with little water. When travelling through the Gobi, most of the land is covered with a view of the horizon, and sand dunes are located throughout Mongolia, including the Gobi. Among them, Hongoriin Els, which boasts the largest scale and beautiful scenery, is a popular tourist destination for travellers. You can sit on the back of a camel and feel the energy of the earth, watch the sun and sunset over the desert, and see the Milky Way and countless stars at night.

“Yoliin am canyon”
At Yoliin am, the biggest attraction and most popular tourist destination in Gurvan Saihan Mountain National Park, you can ride a horse through the canyon. Yoliin am, a hidden canyon in the Gobi Desert, which appears to be nothing but wasteland and desert, is a unique terrain where the ice does not melt even in the middle of summer. It is also called the Valley of the Eagles and the Switzerland of the Gobi Desert due to the abundance of wild animals, including eagles. The floor can be slippery, so caution is required when horseback riding, and you must bring hiking shoes.
