With crystal clear waters, lush green forests on the shores and peaceful rural villages, the charming beauty of NyaungShwe is undeniable. Not only discovering this beauty, the full day tour of NyaungShwe Challenge also offers you a great chance to know more about the lifestyle of the small lake village of Indein.
Early in the morning, you will start your trip by riding your bicycle south on the eastern shore of Inle Lake. You will begin your ride in the small town of NyaungShwe down to the busy and crowded market of Nampan(if held that day). Although beginning on paved tarmac, the ride will also take you off-road, traversing through the Shan Hills. After making a short stop at Nampanmarket(if held that day), you will get on your mountain bike and board on a boat to go across the lake.
On this boat, you will be taken to the small lake village of Indein. After having time for lunch, you’ll go to the hidden ancient ruins of Indein after a short ride. Here, you will walk through and search for hidden Buddha images in the ruined site, where the jungle is beginning to take over. After that, you will jump back on the saddle of your bicycle and head north up the western shore.
Mostly pave, the road back to NyaungShwe is on a decline with some undulating hills scattered in between. You’ll ride through the trees and alongside towering Shan mountains as the backdrop. Moreover, you can also have a chance to admire the picturesque rice paddies below and the open road ahead. Then, you will take time to have a quick snack break at KhaungDaing village, which is famous for delicious handmade tofu, soya bean crackers and other treats.
Finally, you will return to your hotel after reaching NyaungShwe after your ride.
