Overview

This is a special two-day and one-night tour to Seki city, Gifu Prefecture, where sword-making has been practised for more than 700 years. You will visit the workplace of a craftsman who continues to make swords in the spirit of bushido, and learn how real swords are made. After learning about sword making, you will have a chance to experience the samurai experience with a sword from a master of iaido (the art of sword fighting). In the evening, you will stay overnight at a lodge located in the dojo of a sword-making artisan. The next morning we will wake up early and go to a nearby temple to experience Zen meditation practice. Afterwards, you will visit a workshop where traditional sword-making techniques are used in modern knife making and experience making your own kitchen knife. This tour is not only a simple samurai experience, but also a great way to learn more about the samurai spirit and enjoy making your own kitchen knives.
After Seki city we will visit Gifu Castle finally.
