After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we invite you to discover Copán Ruinas, a hidden treasure in western Honduras, in the Department of Copán, located just 14 kilometres from the El Florido border with Guatemala. This site has been famous for many years, not only for its beauty and mystery, but also for being a vital centre of the Mayan civilisation, recognised as an Archaeological Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1980. Today, Copán Ruinas is affectionately known as the “Paris of the Mayan world” in Central America, due to its sophistication and the exceptional detail of its sculptures and architecture. This Mayan city stands out for having the most elaborate decoration of all, with stelae featuring 3D designs that will leave you in awe. Visiting Copán Ruinas is like walking through an open-air art gallery, where each carved stone tells a fascinating storey of Mayan splendour.
Day 4: Sunflower Farm, Esquipulas Basilica, and Ipala Volcano.

Inside this majestic basilica is the Black Christ, a venerated image that dates back to 1595 and attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. Continuing our exploration, we will head towards the Ipala Volcano. This impressive natural formation reaches an altitude of 1,650 metres above sea level and is composed of multiple strata of hardened lava. The volcano's crater, with a diameter of 1,000 metres, houses a lagoon that extends up to 150 metres below the crater rim, offering spectacular views and a tranquil environment to enjoy nature in its purest state.

Our activity will start early in the morning with a trip to the airport where you will take a short 45-minute flight to Petén. Once you arrive in Petén we will have a transfer to Tikal, which will take 90 minutes. Then we will start our tour with a guide specialised in archaeology.
