The Parque das Mangabeiras was designed by the famous landscape gardener Roberto Burle Marx and preserves, in its area of 2,8 million square metres, 21 sources of the Córrego da Serra, that takes part on the São Francisco river basin . The fauna meets 28 mammalian species, 160 birds, 20 reptiles and 19 amphibia.
