Overview

Hello everyone!

I'm Ivan, your trusty tour guide for the day. We'll kick things off by exploring the inner city gems, delving into its rich history and captivating events.

After that, let's dive into Bergen's culinary world, where we'll find the perfect spot for you to indulge your taste buds, catering to your preferences.

Oh, and fun fact, I'm also a sommelier! So, if anyone's up for sharing a “glass” of wine with me afterwards, count yourselves in!

And a heads-up: Bergen has its own way of welcoming us with rain, so be prepared for a sprinkle or two.

This is a Free Walking Tour where you decide the value you received and tip accordingly.

The statue of Edvard Grieg sculpted by Ingebrigt Vik is a popular Bergen landmark. Edvard Hagerup Grieg was born in Bergen in 1843. He was a Norwegian composer and pianist, widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide.
Den Nationale Scene
  • 45m
  • Admission ticket included
Founded in 1850 as Det Norske Theatre, this theatre owes its existence to the pioneering vision of Norwegian violinist Ole Bull. Its primary objective was to foster the growth of Norwegian playwrights. Among its notable early contributors was Henrik Ibsen, who served as both a resident writer and an artistic director.
Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf
  • 45m
  • Admission ticket included
Next, we will admire Bryggen from across the harbour, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The wharf was once a bustling hub of trade during the Hanseatic period and is now a popular tourist destination. The colourful wooden buildings along the wharf are home to shops, restaurants, and museums, including the Hanseatic Museum and the Schøtstuene Museum.
Fish Market
