Sigiriya rock hike
The very first activity is to climb the iconic tourist attraction, Sigiriya rock fortress. It was the official residence of King Kashyala in the 5th century AD. After climbing the Sigiriya rock fortress and taken a good look at the beautiful scenery head to the Pidurangala cave temple. It was the official temple of the Sigiriya rock. According to teh ancient chronicle, the queen of King Kashayap ahead visited teh temple often. Travellers can witness ancient Buddha states and paint in the temple.
You will be stopping at Dambulla golden temple on your return journey from Sigiriya to Colombo. This is the third scheduled activity on this short trip. You will climb the Dambulla rock and visit 5 ancient caves with hundreds of Buddha statues and a large number of ancient paintings.
