After parking your car in P5 you will meet you where all the snorkel/ dive vans are. Once you have greeted your guide he or she will run through how the day will go and what to expect from the tour. Once you're wearing all of our snorkel gear you will listen in to a safety briefing prior to entering Siflra. Silfra is known for it's visibility exceeding 100 metres. The reason for this is because 50km away there is a glacier that melts at different times of the year and this melt water makes a journey underground until it reaches a big 'crack' in the ground. This meltwater fills this 'crack' or 'canyon' meaning we can go snorkelling there to experience it. After spending 30-40 minutes in the water you'll finish the tour by warming up with a well earned hot chocolate. Your guide will take photos of you throughout and does not charge extra commission. Normally included are 40-100 photos, this varies on group size and the comfort level of the group. They are downloadable after a few days. With the wetsuit option all you need to wear your swimming suit underneath. Our guides highly recommended that you bring thick socks as this will help to keep your feet warm while snorkelling!
