Overview

From a naturalistic point of view, it is the most exciting tour as we will cross the small and typical municipalities of the area such as Calatabiano, Castiglione di Sicilia and Linguaglossa to reach Piano Provenzana. Upon returning, our journey will continue to reach the Alcantara Gorges: a lava canyon crossed by icy waters.

The visit to the volcano at an altitude of 1800m above sea level allows you to see the 2002 eruption. The walking path allows you to visit the ruins of the Hotel delle Betulle, entirely covered in lava and to admire the craters whose eruption destroyed the entire station tourist attraction of Piano Provenzana.
