What you can expect

Discover the sacred sites and rock art of Uluru with a local guide. Learn about Aboriginal culture and experience a magical Uluru Sunset with wine and nibbles.

You'll be collected from your hotel in the mid afternoon to venture in to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

First up you'll visit the Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. The centre was built to represent the two ancestral snakes that in local Aboriginal creation stories battled at Mutitjulu Waterhole and helped create Uluru; Kuniya the Woma Python Woman and Liru, the poisonous brown snake man. At the Cultural Centre you'll see artwork from artists from the Mutitjulu community, like paintings, ceramics, glass, woodwork, jewellery and audiovisual displays.

From here, travel around the base of Uluru in the comfort of an air-conditioned coach, getting a sense of how incredible Uluru is while your local guide tells you the Tjukurpa (creation stories) that tell of the creation of The Rock.

One of the highlights of the tour is the walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole. You'll see ancient aboriginal Rock Art with your guide who will be with you intrepreting the meaning of the traditional symbols. You'll be so close to The Rock you'll be able to touch it and feel the residual heat and texture of the sandstone. Walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole, a spectacular pool of water at the base of a natural waterfall that flows when it's reaining in the desert.

Following your walk, travel to the Uluru Sunset Viewing Area. Enjoy a glass or two of Australian Sparkling Wine and watch Uluru change colour as the sun makes its way towards the western horizon and the earth is blanketed in creamy dusk light.

Travel back to your hotel where you'll arrive 30 mins after the sunset.
