Embark on a 5-day expedition to explore the Usumacinta River, the most voluminous river in Mexico. Visit the archaeological sites of Yaxchilán and Piedras Negras, navigate thrilling Class III - IV rapids, and camp on beautiful sandy beaches along the river.

Day 1:
Meet your guide at Villahermosa airport and travel for 2 hours to visit the city of Palenque. Then, travel for 2 more hours towards the Lacandon jungle to spend the night at “Campamento Río Lacanjá”.

Day 2:
In the morning, visit the Bonampak archaeological site, famous for its well-preserved and important Mayan murals. Transfer to the village of Frontera Corozal, where you'll board a motorboat to reach the Lost City of Yaxchilán.

Set up the first camp on a sandy beach by the Usumacinta River. After a delicious dinner, light a campfire and enjoy a star-filled sky accompanied by the sounds of the jungle.

Day 3:
After breakfast, prepare the equipment to embark on the Usumacinta River. At midday, encounter the first rapids of the journey. After this point, the river will flow faster to take you to the Piedras Negras archaeological site. Set up the second camp and sleep amidst the chorus of howler monkeys.

Day 4:
In the morning, hike through the Guatemalan jungle to visit the Piedras Negras archaeological site and explore its temples and tombs hidden by the jungle. Return to the camp, located on an excellent beach, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the river.

Day 5:
Two hours into the journey, visit the beautiful Busilha waterfalls, which are approximately 35 metres high. Later, enter the San José Canyon and descend its rapids through its steep walls up to 200 metres high. Paddle for another hour to finish the journey in a village where a van awaits to take you to the city of Villahermosa.
