- Children 4 and younger are complimentary when accompanied by a paying adult. All children 16 and younger must be accompanied by a paying adult.

- This activity begins in Waihi, which is approximately 89 miles (143 km) southeast of Auckland. You must make your own way to the meeting point.
- The Gold Discovery Centre hours of operation are 9 AM–4 PM from June to August, and 9 AM–5 PM the rest of the year.
- Check-in is 15 minutes prior to the booked tour start time.
