Know before you book

  • Children 2 and younger are complimentary.
  • Entrance to the State Apartments closes 30 minutes after the last admission time
  • The Semi-State Rooms usually open from autumn-spring each year. The Semi-State Rooms are not open on days when the State Apartments are closed.
  • From March to October, hours of operation are 10 AM–5:15 PM (last admission is at 4 PM).
  • From November to February, hours of operation are 10 AM–4:15 PM (last admission if at 3 PM).
  • **For Windsor Castle Admission with Transport, the bus will leave at 1.00PM during summer time (April to September) and at 11.30AM during winter time (October to March). Departure point: 4 Fountain Square, 123-151 Buckingham Palace Road.**
  • For customers own safety, all entrants will be subject to bag checks and body searches when accessing the main building.
  • Please note all vouchers must be printed for admission to Windsor Castle

Very, very, buzy on a early Friday afternoon. Fabulous castle but try to go early or late in the day, or out of the peak torurist season if you can.

I was not able to go to Windsor Castle, since I was told that I’ve only had a ticket for admission to the Castle and No way to get there unless I found my own way there. I missed out on this trip.

A great experience with the opportunity to pay our respects to the late queen. I'm glad we purchased our tickets in advance as it was an extremely long queue to get in. Once in it was well worth the visit. Unfortunately photography is nog allowed indoors because there is such beautiful items and architecture. Inside the chapel is amazing, and its quite surreal l to witness the resting place of the late Queen.

A very beautiful and interesting castle. Arrived just before 11am to see changing of the guards and the band. Seeing where our late queen is intered was very moving.

Didnt get to explore most parts of the castle. They need to control admission as too many people are allowed entry. Over an hour wait to get the audio tour.
