At the beginning of the day, your guide will wait for you at your hotel before you leave for the Southern Province of Vayots Dzor, which is considered the ancient cradle of wine-making. For thousands of years, it has been an important centre of viticulture in the region, with authentic grape varieties that grow on its fertile soil.
You will soon arrive at the wine-village Areni, at which point you will be able to take a pleasant stroll through the vineyards. Whilst here you will have a delicious traditional breakfast (paired with good local wine), before you drive to the village Amaghu. Once here you will begin trekking to the architectural masterpiece which is the Noravank Monastery.
Afterwards, you will head to the Areni Cave, where 6,000-year-old artefacts together with wine vessels and other accessories help testify that Armenia is an ancient and authentic centre of wine-making. Following lunch in a cosy guesthouse, your local guide will share with you the secrets of pure honey-making and wine-making. In the evening, you will be accompanied back to your hotel in Yerevan, complete with a stop at the Khor Virap Monastery where the flawless view of the Biblical Mount Ararat will be an absolute treat to your eyes.
