Staff are helpful but the system (check in/out software and some procedures) appears to be inflexible: I had been accidentally charged twice at check in, but cannot obtain an refund; I had to pay a third time for deposit in cash - even thought I had been charged and paid the extra time on card for accommodation but I couldn't pay for deposit using the same card, somehow... lucky i had cash; I had been advised on refund upon check out, but the message had been lost overnight - explanation and process started all over again in the morning at check out. I could not order a drink at the bar, must sit down at a table, waiting to be brought a manual, then order from there...

Our only issue was that 2 telephone staff members told us the car park was already closed on 24 April in preparation for ANZAC day. This was totally incorrect as the streets are only closed very early on ANZAC day. They advised us to park at 259 Pitt Street instead for the same parking rate. This meant we had to carry our luggage along more than two city blocks in amongst many people and vehicles. When we arrived at the hotel at 2.45 pm the car park was still open and we could have driven up and dropped off our luggage easily. These staff members caused us a great deal of anxiety, and pain as my sister has a damaged knee and I have a damaged back. I called specifically to check about the luggage drop off and parking situation. So it is very disappointing that the incorrect information was provide by 2 different staff members. If I hadn’t called to check, it would have worked out better. The hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of red wine. But this was provided only after I asked for something as some sort of apology or compensation. Please provide staff training to make sure staff actually listen properly to the question asked by the guest and provide a fully correct answer, or to refer to the guest to someone with better English language if they are not fully sure of the question. Loved the hotel but not the parking advice.

Ash was great....he intervened so we didn't get ripped off by the taxi. All the staff were excellent, especially in the Lounge. The Lounge was fantastic with a good and varying selection of food. The only downside was there is no pool on the property.
