This is an older hotel and without air conditioning. We visited during a hot week and were placed on the top floor with windows that are not allowed to open apart from a small crack. Sleeping was uncomfortable, even with the fans the hotel provided. The restaurant, which was a reason I booked this property, is closed for the entire season, perhaps longer, and I was not made aware of this prior to our arrival. There are other cafes on the same block and good coffee/breakfast options. It was not a hotel I wanted to spend any time in and did not look forward to returning to. The staff were all very nice and accommodating, however, within what they could offer. The location was great. Fantastic neighborhood.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Very close to the zoo and a couple of good restaurants/bars, but a little bit of a walk into the city center. It's a quiet neighborhood, which was nice!

Housekeeping on request is a very green option but on arrival our room wasn’t very clean so some part of the room looks dirty and tired and better housekeeping should be implemented on departures , breakfast was excellent and very helpful reception.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet neighborhood but still so convenient to get around the city! Tram stop was very close! Staff were helpful and friendly! Lots of great cafes around to choose from! If i ever go back to Amsterdam I woukd stay here again!

Great stay
We enjoyed our stay at Lancaster Hotel. Location was convenient, access to everything by Tram, bus and metro, but slightly away from the noise and traffic of city center which we liked. Beds were comfortable, blackout shades were great, everything was well designed. We were on the newer part of the hotel. Our room has AC but we didn't need it since it was cool during our visit. Umbrellas were readily available for raining days.

Friendly staff & allowed us to check in early. Amazing selection and good quality breakfast. Comfy bed, clean throughout, with daily clean, even tho we didn't ask for it, as were only there 2 nights & out sightseeing all day. Upgraded to a superior room, which was spacious, looking onto the front of the property, so unsure what a standard room looks like. Tram stop very near. Would recommend.
