We had three nights at Newgate House, and would happily recommend to fellow travellers.
The rooms are spacious and very well presented, and Carol is a most welcoming hostess. There is ample storage space in the rooms, and the tea tray was enhanced by daily provision of fresh (not UHT!) milk.
We opted for the 'room with nice bath'. It was, indeed a very nice bath - made all the more inviting by large fluffy towels and lots of space. The bathroom was literally two steps from the bedroom, and in no way inconvenient.
Breakfast was a delight; taken in the dining room at the front of the house, around a table that would easily seat ten. Even when both rooms are full, it would be quite possible to keep to yourself if preferred.
Plenty of eating houses in town, and Carol will recommend places further afield if asked.
On street parking is ample - we managed to park right outside the front door every time.
