Hotel is in an excellent location and the rooms are reasonable and clean. No reception service between certain hours and you are directed to the larger sister hotel around the corner. Breakfast was adequate but service was slightly lacking.

Not excellent but not terrible either
Overall a comfortable stay with large, comfortable, warm rooms. When we arrived there were no staff on reception despite advice that there would be until 10:30 so we had to go to the hotel next door to check-in. Unfortunately, because there are no staff at night, smokers congregate in the canopied entrance with the doors constantly opening and thus all the communal areas stank of cigarettes. This did dissipate by the following day but it wasn’t a great arrival especially as the smokers made little effort to move as we tried to lug our suitcases through them up the staircase.

This is not a 4 star property; at best it's 2 stars. The elevator did not work so we had to haul the luggage up 2 floors. Room and reception area is sparse, with minimal staff on duty. Very good location close to the train station and trams to downtown are frequent.

Automated check-in works, but there are also friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable, and the price/quality ratio is good. Breakfast is pretty basic and pre-cutting the loaves means they can be a little stale

IMMACULATE, squeaky clean room!! Room was snug; small but well organized. Bed was very comfortable, linens pristine. No AC that we could find but fine for Oct. Shower had good water pressure but glass shield only 1/2 way so water all over the floor. (As Americans we remain puzzled by these 1/2 walls and yearn for a full shower door!!) Front desk staff left at about 6 p.m. deferring to sister property Hotel Euler. We appreciated the full breakfast buffet. Plenty of restaurants close by for dinner. Perfect for a comfortable overnight near the train station.

Nice clean hotel right through. Nice size room. Lovely shower. Friendly efficient staff. Centre of Basel, but very quiet. 5 minute walk to railway station, and 5 minute walk from airport bus drop off. Definitely stay again.

It is hard to imagine a more convenient location, with the train station just around the corner, and major attractions just a few stops away on Basel’s excellent tram network. The BaselCard you receive upon check-in means you travel for free anywhere you please on city transport.

To check in we had to go to the connected hotel around the corner but after that the location near the station and not too far from the old town was excellent. The service that we received from the staff was excellent. The room was large and well appointed. The continental breakfast was better than average.

Arrived early morning, luggage storage was not an issue, recieved our Basel city pass which we were able to use straight away. Very helpful staff. Great location from Train station.

A very pleasant stay
A lovely hotel - we made several minor requests of reception staff and they were fulfilled cheerfully and promptly. Room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is very near the railway station and other transport links.

This was a return visit. We received a warm welcome and the staff were always polite and helpful. A plate of petit fours awaited us in our room. The room was large and although storage for our belongings was tight we managed well. Its accessibility to the station was a boon as we used the train and the Swiss Travel Pass every day. The only negative was the housekeeping. Only on one occasion was the room well cleaned. We were there for two weeks but our beds were not changed. In contrast there were always clean towels when we asked for them. Despite this one niggle, we would return if staying in Basel. It is very good value for money.
