Accommodation In Blackheath
Be invigorated by fresh mountain air, in one of our Blackheath hotels, in the World Heritage listed Blue MountainsYou'll see lots of native birds and animals, have plenty of opportunities to go bushwalking, or maybe even have a round of golfat the Blackheath Golf Club, on the top of the mountain range.
While you're here, you'll probably have a hard time keeping your jaw off the ground. That's because the scenic beauty of the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park really is something to marvel at. Another landmark worth marvelling over is the 180m high Govett's Leap Waterfall and, of course, the Govett's Leap Lookout. Another great vantage point can be found at Evan's Lookout, which offers spectacular views of Govett's Gorge as well as the Grose Valley. Evan's Lookout is also the beginning of the famous Grand Canyon Walk and the Cliff Top Track, so it's the perfect spot if you're keen to do some bush walking.
Another crowd drawer to the area is the Blackheath Rhododendron Festival, a month-long event held every November. During the festival, there are flower displays, live music performances and the Annual Art Show, as well as the Grand Parade on the first Saturday of November. If you can't make it to the event, no matter what time of year you arrive, you'll enjoy exploring Blackheath, one of the highest towns in the Blue Mountains, but you should also check out Mount Victoria, which is only about 6km away.
Getting Here and Around
Blackheath is about 125km from Sydney, so you can catch one of these cheap flights to Sydney. From there, you can jump aboard a coach buse or join one of the tours that travel throughout the Blue Mountains. However, if you'd like more freedom to personalise your itinerary, you could look into hiring a car or, if you're travelling in a group, a minivan.
There's no need to worry about meals, though. Bakehouse on Wentworth is a very popular organic bakery, right in the heart of Blackheath. It’s so popular that if you can’t find the pie, quiche or cake you’re looking, for you might find it at their other Blue Mountains locations in Glenbrook, Leura and Springwood. There are also some fab restaurants in the area like Ashcrofts Restaurant in Blackheath where you can taste some Moroccan lamb or crispy skin pork belly and wash it down with some with some excellent Australian vino.
So book your flights and Blackheath accommodation with us now. Then the only thing you need to do is decide on is wot you're going to see and do first.
