Huge disappointment
Room was down in the cellar behind the ax. Window looked out onto a parking lot yet the floor was described as Garden Level. It was the tiniest room in a hotel I’ve ever been. And it was about $200 a night . outrageous. No bellman , no laundry service or even dry cleaning bags, no room service. It was very dated. Not even room for a chair in the room other than a desk chair. Shower curtain smelled of mildew. But they replaced it. Sink was clogged entire time even after asking it to be fixed.

The room had a terrible BO and musty odour. Shower had very limited pressure and curtain smelled musty. Bed was clean though and the place was very quiet. Lovely grounds and beach area with pretty views.

Great Stay
It was a very comfortable and safe stay. The staff were cheerful, the halls and rooms were so quiet. No noise from outside. If this was a frequent option for me I would stay here every time. Yeah, it's a little out of the way from Salem but I think that's what made it great. I would drive into Salem and park in a garage for like $9 dollars for the day and have the ability to drive a few miles back to the room and leave Salem in Salem.

The Inn is technically on the campus but is its own area (not a student area necessarily). Beautiful grounds and even has its own private beach that is easily accessible by walking down a trail through the woods. The Inn is very clean, and the staff were great. The room was also very clean and well appointed. It was not a large room, but absolutely met our needs. It is a short 10-minute drive to downtown Salem and is convenient to the town. Given the price difference (versus downtown Salem) and amenities here, we would definitely stay again.

This was great as an affordable option, and the stately location and grounds were definitely a cut above a normal hotel, and the room was very good. The only issue is that it does not feature any dining option (aside from a pricey 'snacks counter') and restaurants are a bit of a drive away, in the commercial areas of town. On the positive side, that means no usual traffic or ugly commercial area within sight. Staff was nice, but seemed a little confused at times. I gather they were students at a summer job, and though kind enough, they didn't exactly provide the type of attention or enthusiasm you might find in a chain hotel.

Gorgeous setting and comfortable room
The Wylie is located in the charming city of Beverly, and located on Brackenbury Beach... a wooded, small beautiful stretch of sand just north of Boston. I enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this setting and was able to travel back to the Boston airport with ease from here.
