Immaculate, but a little odd

When the cab dropped us at the hotel, we could see all kinds of high-end shopping and the Callas Restaurant, but only a large pair of wooden doors that had a smaller door cut into them. No significant entrance or signage, and the doors were locked. Fortunately, a guest who was having breakfast in the restaurant showed us where and how to get into the hotel. Inside, we were in a large room with some steps off to the right and a sign that said reception was on the THIRD floor. The he staff was courteous and accommodating, and regardless of anyone waiting, he took us up to and into our room. The room was as shown on the photos already posted, under the roof, with steps up to a balcony that is designed for smokers, but not for the scenic view of the opera house next door - the stone railing is substantial and high. The room and bathroom were kept clean and well supplied, and we had no complaints. The peculiarities of the structure is probably due to its age and previous usage. The stand alone restaurant next door served a nice breakfast and delicious dinner. Be a are that you should probably make a reservation, because on nights the opera house is open, they’re booked.

Great Location

Great location charming hotel

We like historic buildings even if they are missing a little convenience. It was unusually hot the day we arrived and no AC, but there was good ventilation with the windows open and it was fine. The photos are the view of the opera house from our room and the imperfect but beautiful lobby. The towels were very very very old with holes. Otherwise, the room was Lovely

This was an excellent hotel in the heart of the Pest side of Budapest. The staff was warm and accommodating and the room was spacious and pleasant. The accommodations were around many find restaurants and attractions on the Pest side. Would go back in a moment!

Disappointing

The staff were good, the internet was terrible, the place looked tired and we didn’t get the room we booked. One of the couples we were with had a terrible smell coming from the bathroom. They were given a new room the next day. We were disappointed in this hotel.

Excellent

Excellent hotel - we stayed for 2 nights on a quick trip. The location meant we could walk everywhere we wanted; felt safe; and loved all of the architecture. We will definitely stay again - the hotel is gorgeous as is the city. Particularly loved the very clean bathroom and comfortable bed.

We have only one problem about our stay that should be noted for improvement to be made. The frontal door is not signed as it should be for a hotel that gets 4/5 stars. There is no display on lifgt that reception is on 3rd floor and the two lower floors - where embassy of ecuador and another firm have their offices - have nothing to do with the hotel. We are told this lack of signage has been pointed out to owner a number of times but he fails to do anything about it. Having said that the terrace room is marvellous, the receptionist staff are marvellous as is the restaurant on ground floor and we would stay there again

This is a great boutique type hotel across from the Budapest Opera. We were in the 2 bedroom suite with the terrace in which you get great sunset views of Budapest. The suite was very large - probably a great space for 2 couples. We were only there for 1 night but would definitely recommend this hotel. Great space and everything is within walking distance.

Perfect location -

Firstly this hotel is situated on the 3rd and 4th floor of an old apartment building, which is accessed by a lift or stairs. This gives it a bit of an unconventional feel, but which I loved. It is located on a main road, right beside the Opera house and within a 5 minute walk to St Stephen’s Basilica. As a solo traveler, the location was fantastic, I could more or less walk everywhere and at no time did I feel unsafe walking back to the hotel after dark. The Metro was virtually outside the hotel if needed. Staff very helpful, room large and clean. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. My only negative and it is a very small one, was the hotel itself was hard to find as it was not well signposted, only a very small sign on the front door of the building. This could definitely be improved. That saying, if I’m ever lucky enough to visit Budapest again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
