First day here, and the location is fantastic. The rooms, are a bit dated and have a very musty smell. However, the staff, whether at the front desk or the restaurant, seem overworked or have a serious attitude problem. They come across as totally unwelcoming and visibly irritated. Breakfast was an experience. 15 minutes wait time for a table, which is fine. Almost 50 minutes for the food to be served after ordering it, which is crazy. The experience during the rest of the days wasn't as bad, I think they seem to be short staffed and hence the overall frustration or whatever. They did give us extended check out and some people are sweet. Overall, the place is very dated and is missing some very basic amenities, but in a great location. People of are people, some sweet some not so much. Would I go back? I don't think so.

The first day we were there my husband saw a roach in the bathroom. And the last day he saw another one . The pool was closed the first two days we told the front desk person and she said that the hotel manager was going to call us back and she never did

The staff was not professional at all. The cleaners smoked in the hallway instead of cleaning the room. They did not service the room every day. Therefore we had to ask for shampoo, conditioner and clean towels. Out of the seven nights we stayed, they cleaned only twice. The good thing was that the beach was good for swimming.

Had to pay $25 per day to park your car plus bogus $25 per day resort fee ( very few resort fee benefits - coffee, some hula lesson and one day 2 hour bike rental - no other benefits for daily fee) The hotel is in a nice location overlooking state park and Kauai coast line

I loved starting each day by getting a cup of free coffee in the lobby and strolling towards the beach to watch the sunrise over the ocean.

$25 fee a day for parking your car. $25 Resort fee a day and since we booked through Expedia they wouldn't even give us breakfast without charging another $18 to $25 a day per person. 2 My Thai drinks at the bar $45. $700 credit card hold for incidentals. The room was nice but make no mistake you are not going to get the little green apartment buildings that you see advertised in the pictures it is definitely a normal style hotel room building. I don't know how you get into those little Cottages you see them advertising. A bit of a bait and switch there but the insides of the room just like the photos. Spent a lot of money on top of what I already purchased through expedia. I will say it is a beautiful place and I was able to at least get some free coffee in the morning and there is nice places to sit everywhere but at the end I felt like I was quite a bit taken advantage of because I had no idea I'd be here with these fees
