Good place close to the National Mall and Wharf
6 day stay. This was my fourth or fifth stay at this Residence Inn. It has a great location for visiting the museums at the National Mall. It is an easy walk to the Mall and only a 1/2 mile walk to the Wharf, a great place for dinner. There is a metro station for the Blue Line less than two blocks a way, and for the red line a bit further but a very easy walk. There are few places to eat within a few blocks of the hotel.
The folks who work there are quite friendly and helpful. The place is clean. Many families stay here during the summer, probably because of the free breakfast. It can get a bit noisy with the young children, but there is a separate room that is quiet. Palatable breakfast but they do run out of things on the weekend.
One oddity was that the cleaners walked into my room at 8:15 AM--not sure why they'd be cleaning rooms that early. Another plus--it's a 10 minute cab ride to Reagan National Airport. If you're into walking, it's a nice walk to Eastern Market on the weekend--but take Independence to Pennsylvania to get there. This is not a swanky place but it is quite pleasant and the free breakfast will get you going without having to stop to get one or to make one in your room--though there is a full kitchen in the woom except for no oven.
