We finally arrived at our destination after having to contact Angela the owner for some better instructions as the Sat Nav was unable to find the villa. We were welcomed by Massimo who showed us the basics. He then showed us kindly to the supermarket. You will need a car and stock up on supplies as the supermarket is a few kilometres away! The villa is stunning however does get extremely hot so keep shutters down. Use the aircom sparingly to reduce the electric cost also the units in the bedrooms are quite noisy. Unfortunately for us Etna decided to erupt so in the morning we woke up to a thick covering of ash all over the villa complex,patio,loungers etc and in and on the pool area. Unbeknown to us we were obviously expected to clean the outside complex along with the pool.(I don't think this is normal practice) As when we contacted Angela she told us Massimo was away . She told us we rented the villa she gave us instructions on how to clean the pool which was unusable with the amount of ash in it. This took hours to do. So be prepared to take care of the pool for your stay. If this is going to be the case going forward , please could this be stated in the itinerary. Massimo came the morning we left to give us the cost for the electric use.

We drove from Palermo to Villa Gavetta stopping in Enna on the way over. We were in contact with Angela the owner who gave us detailed directions. The villa is secluded and a little remote, so we were organised when it came to shopping for food. The Villa itself is beautiful. very tastefully decorated, spacious, super clean and very, very well equipped. The photos do not really do justice to the reality. Our nearest neighbour was a herd of goats wearing bells which tinkled from the distance making the whole experience even more fairytale! Lizards scurrying up the white walls, olive trees burgeoning with fruit, lemon trees and prickly pears (we picked one - very carefully following instructions on youtube) different but quite nice! The wifi works well, the beds are comfortable. The Villa itself is situated really well for sightseeing, not far from the airport in Catania, we visited Mt Etna, Syracuse, Ortegia, Notto, Catania, Taormino, all within easy reach. And the local town/city Augusta very buzzy. The local beach Aneone Bagni (sp) is rubbish though - literally full of rubbish, so stick to the pool! We would absolutely stay here again. We loved the privacy yet not far from everything we wanted to see. You will not be disappointed

La description est conforme, la maison est isolĆ©e et bien Ć©quipĆ© avec une belle piscine, vous avez la tranquillitĆ©. Angela a toujours Ć©tĆ© Ć  l'Ć©coute et Massimo parfait pour rĆ©soudre les petits soucis. Il a fait trĆØs chaud cet Ć©tĆ© en utilisant la climatisation au minimum nous en avons eu pour 180ā‚¬ en facture d'Ć©lectricitĆ© pour 2 semaines. Nous avons passĆ© un bon sĆ©jour.

Excellent choix pour qui recherche la tranquillitĆ© - hormis quelques aboiements ou pleurs des chiens des voisins Ć  toute heure du jour ou de la nuit. La maison est conforme aux photos et Ć  la description et est trĆØs fonctionnelle. Petites attentions dans le rĆ©frigĆ©rateur Ć  notre arrivĆ©e trĆØs apprĆ©ciĆ©es. Nous nā€™avons jamais rencontrĆ© Angela mais avons pu communiquer par message quand nous avions besoin. Les extĆ©rieurs sont parfaits et trĆØs bien Ć©quipĆ©s . La piscine Ć©tait trĆØs apprĆ©ciĆ©e au retour des visites. Nous Ć©tions toujours Ć  lā€™extĆ©rieur la maison restant trĆØs chaude a lā€™intĆ©rieur. Attention Ć  lā€™utilisation des climatisations : en ne les mettant que la nuit nous avons eu une consommation de 159 euros pour deux semaines. Pour conclure la location permet de passer de bonnes vacances reposantes et confortables. Nous recommandons !

Maison de campagne modernisƩe : confortable mais "froide"
La description correspond bien Ć  la rĆ©alitĆ© : maison confortable avec cuisine Ć©quipĆ©e et grande piscine, mais qui manque de charme/dĆ©coration (tout est trop blanc, carrelage, pavĆ©, pierre, cailloux sauf une chambre noire jusqu'au plafond ! quelle idĆ©e... il manque beaucoup de verdure pour rĆ©chauffer l'atmosphĆØre) et trĆØs peu d'ombre dans le jardin ou devant le salon ce qui est dommage vu le soleil sicilien... La situation est au calme campagnard, la piscine est grande, il y a une cuisine extĆ©rieure et un bbq ! les climatisation des chambres font un bruit infernal et les fenĆŖtres du salon plein sud ne s'ouvrent pas : c'est un four (avec porte en mĆ©tal noir)

Nous avons passĆ© 15 jours dans cette magnifique maison Ć  40 min de Syracuse . Nous Ć©tions avec nos deux ado de 17 ans et voulions de la tranquillitĆ© loin de la foule . Nous avons trouvĆ© exactement ce que nous recherchions . Des prestations de qualitĆ© dans un cadre magnifique Quel bonheur de franchir le portail aprĆØs une longue journĆ©e de visite ou de sport aquatique Les extĆ©rieurs et lā€™intĆ©rieur amĆ©nagĆ©s avec beaucoup de goĆ»t , cuisine extĆ©rieure et barbecue , salon de jardin Ć  lā€™ombre pour le repos . La piscine est une pure merveille. Il nā€™y manque rien mĆŖme la petite pharmacie, les anti moustiques,la climatisation dans la piĆØce de vie et les chambres est la bienvenue car la chaleur est importante durant la haute saison . Les bonnes petites adresses pour resto et activitĆ©s . Magnifique villa !
TrĆØs belle location, parfaitement Ć©quipĆ©e et trĆØs au calme sans voisinage. SituĆ©e entre Catania et Syracusa ( attention GPS indispensable pour la trouver ou alors bien suivre les indications d'Angela ) , localisation parfaite pour dĆ©couvrir l'est de la Sicile. Nous y avons sĆ©journĆ© Ć  4 en famille 1 semaine en juillet 2018. TrĆØs belle piscine, pergola parfaite pour repas et dĆ©tente ( + ombre ) , oliviers et citronniers. Climatisation piĆØces de vie et chambres ( attention surcoĆ»t Ć  prĆ©voir, 70 euros pour nous en 1 semaine pour clim soir et nuit ) Conseils avisĆ©s d' Angela tout au long du sĆ©jour. Accueil par Massimo et sa famille ( ils ne parlent qu'italien par contre) . TrĆØs bon rapport qualitĆ© / prix. La location vaut le coĆ»t assez Ć©levĆ© au vu des prestations. Nous recommandons vraiment cette location ( et nous louons des maisons depuis de nombreuses annĆ©es donc pouvons comparer ) mĆŖme si elle est isolĆ©e et qu'il faut donc prendre la voiture pendant 15 mn pour faire des courses par ex . C'est le prix de la tranquillitĆ©. Allez y, la Sicile est sublime et authentique et les gens adorables .. Nous recommandons 1 semaine pour l'est et 1 autre pour l'ouest. .

Villa trĆØs agrĆ©able pour un sĆ©jour en famille
Nous avons sĆ©journĆ©14 nuits dans cette villa avec nos deux enfants. Nous y avons passĆ© de trĆØs agrĆ©ables vacances. La villa est trĆØs confortable, tout y est rĆ©cent. Il ne manque rien dans la cuisine, tout est fonctionnel. Les extĆ©rieurs sont extraordinaires et trĆØs bien amĆ©nagĆ©s avec une belle vue sur la campagne et les oliviers. Nous avons Ć©normĆ©ment profitĆ© de la piscine et avons partagĆ© nos repas sous la pergola. Tout est bien pensĆ© dans cette villa pour la vie au quotidien. Nous avons nĆ©anmoins regrettĆ© qu il n'y ait pas de climatisation dans les chambres car il faisait trĆØs chaud le soir et la climatisation du salon ne permettait pas de refroidir toutes les piĆØces. Nous avons visitĆ© Syracuse, Catania, Noto, Taormina et l Etna, la villa est proche des axes autoroutiers. Le soir, nous sommes souvent allĆ©s dĆ®ner Ć  Brucoli, trĆØs sympa et proche . Angela a toujours Ć©tĆ© Ć  notre Ć©coute et soucieuse de nous satisfaire. Massimo nous a trĆØs bien accueillis. Nous retournerons avec plaisir en Sicile dans cette villa si l occasion se reprĆ©sente!
