When we arrived to check in, we were given a room in which was already occupied. Housekeeping was not available unless notified the morning of. You could hear customers in the hall very clearly along with doors constantly slamming. There were rooms nearby that were smoking marijuana. Other people had loud music playing. The floors in the hotel room itself were sticky. The refrigerator made a loud clicking sound all day and night long. There is not enough regular parking unless you do valet.

We stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it has declined significantly in regards to freshness, cleanliness and decor. Everything looks tired. The room was comfortable but not 100% clean. We were so tired after attending College of Charleston orientation, we simply did not care. The staff was friendly and the valet service an added bonus. The breakfast was actually quite pleasing and several options for everyone. The front desk did mention an upcoming renovation BUT it is long overdue. I know housekeeping is sometimes a thankless job but perhaps more attention to cleaning hard surfaces and floors would be beneficial. The desk was streaked with something, the tile entry had debris on it when we arrived. The sheets, bathroom and towels were very neat and tidy. We will be back to Charleston but might find another location in the future.
