Absolute gem of a property. Everything was first class. The staff were incredible. A few specific highlights: - room and bathroom very decent sizes and incredible well appointed and comfortable. - the daily clean in the room was wonderful & without doubt the “best made bed” at any hotel I have stayed at. Was exquisite and a real daily treat. - Somerset restaurant was great for breakfasts & dinners. Well priced & at least as good, if not better, than several other significantly more expensive restaurants we dined at. Good choice of wines by the glass. - both the gym and the rooftop pool definitely exceeded expectations. The pool area is quite small but we always found a comfortable space even on very hot days. The gym was extremely well appointed and all equipment worked. - the courtesy bike I used was excellent. Probably the best I have used at any hotel. Definitely a commuter bike but as a keen cyclist I went for a few 25km plus rides & the bike handled well - nice quiet area & easy access to the lake for walks. - less convenient to shops but only an easy, completely flat, 10 minute walk to the heart. The benefit was being a quieter area. - the absolute highlight was the staff. Incredibly professional & friendly. Always a nice touch when the lady at reception greets you by your name. We stayed for 5 nights & being a guest at the Viceroy definitely added significantly to the enjoyment of our trip. Highly, highly recommended.

It was our second time visiting this hotel. It is a nice looking hotel but the service was not as good as when we first visited. During our stay, cleaning team forgot to refill the coffee pods, makeup remover wipes and face towels. We asked front desk for refills and twice they forgot. The room was clean, reception employees were polite but not so much smiling. Internet was working but slow.

Love the Chicago viceroy. The rooms, entire facility and service is amazing. I try to stay here every time I stay in Chicago.
