Smells like licorice
Excellent location within a few minutes walk of historic landmarks and excellent dining. Be advised, the rooms are much smaller than the photos suggest. Not necessarily bad thing. It just caught me by surprise. The breakfast was okay. The hallways smelled faintly of black licorice. Not bad. Just unusual. My only real complaint is the communications. They sent me an email with the addresses of two parking garages. Neither address was correct. I was given the correct address at check in. So. It's a good place for the money. I just recommend calling ahead and verifying the location of their off-site parking.

We were duped out of $45 by a garage associated to the Marriot because they told us that they were valet for Holiday in Express as well. It was impossible to find the entrance to the hotel. Had we found a way to pull up to the door, we would have been able to park in free parking. By the time we walked there, a valet had already taken our car. The air conditioner did not go to a low enough temperature and did not have any power when blowing out at all.

The staff at the property were very friendly made checking in and out convenient. The room was clean and well kept. Overall, I was very happy about the property in itself. It does appear to need a few renovations, but that didn't negatively impact my stay.

Not a great experience
The elevators weren’t working. Had to use stairs off 8th floor to carry stuff in and all my Uber eats. Very inconvenient and I have a bad knee. A huge amount of kids were in the lobby and none of them would move to get in and out of the lobby. Just wasn’t a great experience.

Pretty nice property. I feel it is an affordable and well appointed property which provides value. Friendly staff and wonderful location. I seemed to have one of the smallest rooms in the property. I was traveling alone so ok for me. But if with a family this would have been a disappointment. It was tiny, barely enough room to maneuver around the bed. It still had a fridge and a microwave with a king bed. Bathroom was clean and nice. Only one elevator was working during my visit so you could end up waiting a few minutes to get where you were going.

Front desk woman was extremely rude and didn’t want to help when our reservation couldn’t be found. She walked away to help someone else. Breakfast was lacking - vegetable omelet with no vegetables, no yogurt for our entire stay, pancake machine wasn’t working. Smell in the lobby was sickening. What is with all the deodorizers in the halls, elevator? One elevator not working for our entire stay. Extremely limited dining!! Front desk staff hid in room behind desk. Not helpful at all.
