Disliked: Staff & service
We stayed on New Year's Eve to view the fireworks in the Reunion Tower. However, There's conflicting information from staff on how to view it. The reception staff told us to be in the lobby at 11:15 and a staff will escort us to the viewing section. At 11:14, I asked a concierge and they told me just to walk outside, and follow the crowd. Then, there's a sign like VIP Viewing. When I talked to the reception staff, they said it was for the Crown Block viewing and there may be a charge. When I asked staff manning the escalator, it was free and supposed to be the one we had to follow to view the fireworks on the lawn. I expected well-informed staff on this occasion as we are paying through the roof hotel room rate on this special day. My opinion, don't pay the $500 room rate on NYE. Book a cheaper hotel somewhere, park near the reunion tower or downtown and you can see the Reunion fireworks.
Also, the staff said when we were checking in that since the valet was full that night, we had to park on Lot A. I asked how do we pay and they said it's free. When we checked out, we asked how we got our car and they said, just show the room key. We don't have to return the key. Turned out they charged us $30 for parking and we didn't need the room key to get out of the parking lot!
