Overall room was clean and comfortable and the gym was acceptable. Service was generally good.
Main suggestions for improvement
1. The room was not properly prepared: there was a clearly opened and used soft drink can in the fridge and the gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower were already opened (seals broken). This is a hygiene issue for me.
2. When trying to enquire about facilities, the first person could not understand me (my English is very neutral so this was a surprise) but the next person could. I tried to book a tour of Old Delhi and the person tried to suggest a driver without a guide and then the phone got disconnected waiting for her to enquire about this further and she did not get back to me. In the end I booked an excellent tour on the internet
3. On arrival, I knew I was a bit early and in case my room was not ready I just wanted to drop off my luggage so I could head off to attend a meeting. At this point in similar hotels the receptionist would usually arrange the luggage for me or ask someone to take me to the correct place. Instead I had to go somewhere else where there was some confusion until it was understood I could not yet check-in and someone took my bags off me.
4. I ate at the Baluchi restaurant and despite having no starter the main meal of lamb Biryani was far too large a portion and I can eat a lot. The waiter said this is well-known but I feel we should be more responsible about waste.
