As I walked though the front door, there was an instant like. The place was warm, cozy and inviting. The staff were, without fail, delightful, smiling and eager to help. The Breakfast room is a haven of peace, filled with plants and huge windows. Breakfast is OK. The restaurant is in a league of it's own with huge paintings, a fireplace, excellent food and great service. I had a small family dinner and ntried to explain why I love that place but couldn't find the right word. They helped and called it homely, but in na good sense. Huis Vermeer is a feast for all the senses, visually it is stunning, the food is great and why can't all hotels be like that.

reat hotel in the center of Deventer!
Perfect location, a beautiful building, and excellent service. I travel to Deventer fairly often and this is my favorite hotel there. It’s central location makes it an ideal spot for getting around the city. Nice, clean rooms and the breakfast is quite good. Friendly and efficient service.

Central, superb staff, lovely breakfast
We had a nice time here for two nights whilst attending the Womens Euros. A good breakfast set us up for a days sightseeing, easily walkable and then plenty of restaurants, bars (and an ice cream parlour) nearby. We didn't have problems - except no corkscrew in the room, and that was sorted quickly - and the staff couldn't have been friendlier.

Church next door rings bells every hour...all night long. Otherwise this Hotel is fantastic. Restaurant was superb.

Wobderful place to stay
Great place for a short stay, take the little ferry across the Issl river and walk in the park, have lunch in the hotel there. Good shopping and you can get to Germany easily by train or car. Train from Amsterdam airport is direct and one hour twenty minutes. Deventer is beautiful medieval town but not touristy so a pleasure to look around. There is a church opposite the hotel which chimes all night on the half hour and hour, so ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you are a light sleeper, otherwise take earplugs, the hotel provide them but the silicone ones are better.
