We had a fantastic stay at the Downright Austin hotel. The staff was friendly and was very accommodating. The pool was incredible and we had so much fun lounging in the pool and enjoyed some tasty drinks! Hotel is conveniently located next to the highway, which is very convenient! Fun art deco renovations. Wonderful large outdoor space, great for family swim, games or reading a book. Rooms are quiet due to era of building construction. It said shower tub combo but it was just a shower, we changed rooms to get one with a tub and it also was only a shower. It seemed the staff didn’t really know what the rooms had or didn’t have.

Room we were in a/c wasn’t working correctly and it smelt funny like paint or something else. Asked to look at the room and they said a/c was running. Ended up having to buy 2 fans. Went back to front desk the second night and we were able to be moved rooms bc they had one available that was a king and it was better. First room may have triggered my allergies real bad and I haven’t felt good all weekend.
