Love the historical aspect, and the staff is absolutely top notch. Some niggles on the room: switches for bathroom light and fan are outside the room. No choice but to expose your S.O. to the light and sound for ingress/egress if you get up in the middle of the night. Also, no night light. Toilet paper roll (room 653) mounted too far back in a very tight space. Clearance/access very tight/difficult. Move it forward, towards the door. Would love a bidet…

Hotel is a historic lovely property. Needs more amenities. Bathroom in our upgraded king small suite was tiny. Slippery tub shower with no grab bar. Room was on back of building on tenth floor. .Canadian Pacific loud noisy frieight trains ran on tracks fifty feet from hotel all night long. Be careful with room selection.

We stayed at the Fairmont Palliser in Calgary for 3 nights prior to joining a land tour. The hotel was lovely. An old style feel and decor. We arrived at 1.00am after an extremely long and delayed flight from Australia. The reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The room was beautifully decorated and large. The beds and pillows extremely comfortable. Exactly what we needed after a long flight. The restaurant was elegant, reasonably priced and with a substantial menu that would meet tastes of all. We sat in front of the fireplace, eating a variety of share plates whilst sipping cocktails. The pool area was tastefully designed. Very relaxing with the pool and spa set to a perfect temperature. There were robes and slippers in the room which gave the room an extra personal touch. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to go back.
