Stayed at Pineapple Seattle before. Thought this would be similar quality. This is a rundown property old, grimey, ancient structure. Only writing so others are aware and are not fooled like us. Room smelled disgusting, coffee maker not working, mold and grime in shower. Resort fee $25 for "location". Two free drink coupons that could not be redeemed for espressos when coffee maker did not work. Parking (another $25 extra) is NOT secure. I could go on but this should suffice, treat yourself and stay at the Portland Motel 6.

Nice Downtown Hotel
I definitely recommend this hotel! The location is perfect if you are wanting to be in downtown Portland and the parking isn't a terrible price. In general, the area around the hotel felt safe, and we were walking around it at midnight. The hotel itself and our room were extremely clean. I will say I am not a huge fan of the double comforter thing, and the fact that the shower is only half covered by glass. The hotel also started to get fairly noisy with what I assume was cleaning noises at about 10am both mornings we stayed. I did want to warn people also that they hold $75 a DAY for incidentals. Any other hotel I've ever stayed in they only hold one lump sum for incidentals, usually between $50-$100 total, not a certain amount per day you stay. If you are on a budget, that is a need-to-know. Again, for the price though, I'd recommend.

Not safe for families
Do not bother staying here. The front desk girl looked annoyed when I asked her about some additional charges on my invoice. I booked a waterfront room. A huge tree blocked the entire window. My room was dusty. Bathroom was not very cleaned. The hotel is right across from a homeless encampment. Do not walk at night. At one point, a man pulled his pants down in front on me and my kids. Downtown Portland is overridden with transients. Many businesses have moved out and buildings are vacant. It is not safe for families. I loved Portland pre-Covid, but it is no longer the same cool hipster city.

Right on the waterfront. Nice view from room. Room was clean and furnishing was nice. Staff here is excellent. Very accommodating, friendly and service oriented. Only complaint is the condition of the property (besides the rooms) could use some upgrades.

Our room was nearly 3 hours late getting ready, and even though we paid for parking there was none available Thursday night. Seems like you should only collect money for the spots you have, not more than you can provide.

I thought compared to other pineapples we’ve stayed at, that this was by far the worst. There were homeless people and trash all along the block where the hotel was, it was awful.

We were quite happy with the location and helpful service. Both evenings we went for the happy hour at the restaurant and they didn’t charge the happy hour prices, but charged full pricing and we had to ask when we received the bill to have the bill adjusted. The food and drinks were delicious. Our room was quiet and a great size. The building is older and has a number of upgrades but is also one of the cleaner hotels I’ve stayed at in a long time. They were very accommodating to all our requests and the free bike rentals were very enjoyable to ride around town. We will be back in the future; even with the elevator breaking down there was clear communication as well as communication once the issue was resolved texted to us so we were aware. A lot of small but nice touches to our stay.

There was a “resort fee” that made no sense. There was no resort attached to the property. There was an extra charge for parking that was reasonable for the area but it is annoying to pay for parking “first come” parking when it is in the basement and there is no valet.

Pros: Staff was great. Amenities were great. Walkability to downtown and park was perfect. Cons: Hotel interior was a bit rundown. Stairwell wasn’t easily accessible from lobby and smelled of urine. Poor planning with fire alarm testing the day after a major concert/music festival. Received a text 45 minutes before alarms were set to go off (7:15) and woke up in a panic after two long days of music/drinking. At minimum we should have been warned the night before, but testing could have been delayed a day when the hotel was at full capacity because of the concert.
