Great housekeeper
House keeper & house keeping service was excellent. Nice touch of being provided bottles of water along with the usual coffee and tea items in the room. Kettle was good quality, though was quite noisy. Very nice that towels were provided in the pool area

I liked the green on the seabass choice, and would have liked tenderstem or plug another green on the sides. The bath plug did not work very well. The food and drink were good value.

Spoilt By A Polce Request
Unfortunately the hotel accepted a guest delivered by Staffordshire Police and checked them into the room next to us at 1.30am on 17 Feb 2024. They proceeded to shout obscenities down the phone and to smash up the room. They left shortly afterwards but we were left wide awake and shocked at what had happened. It was my 59th birthday and I was left tired for the whole day.We were moved to a better room for our remaining 2 nights and given a complimentary breakfast but it cannot replace a night's sleep. We had no idea that Police Forces asked for accommodation in hotels for the dregs of society we try hard to avoid and we will be wary of this in future.

Beautiful period house with excellent service
I had a very warm welcome from Ava who showed me my room which was lovely and overlooked the beautiful gardens. The dinner menu worked for me, but if you are expecting a pub type meal then perhaps best to eat out. The hotel is in a quiet area and I got a great nights sleep. Ava looked after me at breakfast and checking out. She is a real asset to this hotel!

Good but currently not great leisure facilities
On the whole ‘Good’ but let down by the limited leisure facilities. The changing rooms are going through a refurbishment, with the gents locker room handed over to the ladies while theirs is being worked on. Then they’ll start on the guys changing room, meaning that male users have no changing facilities to speak of (a cubicle has been erected in the gym), lockers, or most importantly, the ability to shower after using the facilities. This is not detailed anywhere until you get to the gym, and talking to the staff likely to take until the end of February 24 to complete.

We had booked a one night stay at the Stone house hotel but wished we had stayed for a few more. We felt welcome as soon as we entered the reception and greeted by a smiling face, we were then given a room upgrade which was a lovely gesture.The room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. This is the most relaxed and homely hotel that we have stayed in and will definitely return.We wished we had planned a longer stay as the hotel had a pool and other ameneties that we would love to have used, The hotel also has a very inviting Indian restaurant that we will eat in on our next visit..We would highly recommend the Stone House hotel..

It was a nice hotel but needs a upgrade. You cannot move 6in and the floor makes noise. Worse uncomfortable bed i have slept in for a while. Shower was boiling hot or freezing cold couldn't sort it
