Open Golf
Chose this hotel for location to Troon for the Open Golf. Accepted that prices were inflated but the hotel is in the car park of Kilmarnock FC and was comfortable. Staff were all really friendly and breakfast was really nice.

The swimming pool advertised with this hotel is an 8 minute drive away. It is the local public swimming pool. It’s like the one I use in my home town. It might be delightful but it’s not the convenience that was expected This is false advertising.

Looks good on paper, but has issues
This hotel has good points and bad points unfortunately a lot of bad points. Let me start with the breakfast staff They were brilliant The evening staff had to be prompted a lot for ordertaking and asking where the drinks were, et cetera. The reception staff were uncaring inflexible on rude. The hotel feels really cheaply built all the floors creek and in my room I can hear people above me walking around not sure how they passed building regulations soundproofing specification. The food is pretty good and breakfast starts early which suits business travellers one bad thing nowhere to put the case in the room this baffles me…
