Friendly staff, elegant lobby for relaxing with lots of seating alcoves, very comfortable bed. The location is perfect for visiting Bergen and the hotel staff are extremely helpful

The Clarion dining room cook and young servers were above and beyond helpful, kind and professional. The food was great but I would be remiss if I did not give kudos to one young 18 yr old Norwegian blonde staff in dining that went to all measures to have short but sincere conversations with us.He was never to busy to be helpful . unfortunately, we never did get his name but you have the dates we spent at the Clarion and I am hopeful you will reach out for a shoutout. He and all of your staff was so helpful and pleasant. The front desk people helped us arrange everything we asked for from receiving lost luggage to arranging the printing of boarding passes to a cab at 3:30 am. Did I mention the immaculateness of our room and even grout in bathroom was so very clean ? Lastly, if I would have any criticism it would be about the furnishing in main lobby furniture. Guys, you really need to know it is definitely passed it's prime. Soiled arms and worn fabric...sorry! My sister and I would definitely grab a glass of great wine by the fireplace and sit on those worn couches again for a week because we have a beautiful memory June 6 -13 doing just that! THANKYOU

Booked this a while in advance at a great price. As dinner and breakfast was included, it was excellent value. I was surprised at the variety and quality of both the meals. My husband is coeliac and they had options for him. Even a separate bread area with a dedicated toaster. We had a superior room with city view. It was very comfortable and spacious enough. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Don't forget to ask for a key to the tower to see the views of the city.

Room was pretty dirty. Such impression that it was not cleaned for weeks. No daily service. Location is great but noisy. Thermostat not functional. They heat hotel centrally (all rooms). When outside there was about 50 F, room temperature was 74-75 F at open window. We stayed in one of few rooms where window could be completely open. In other rooms, room temperature reached 80 F.

Perfect location for a short stay
Great walkable location for cruise terminal, old Bergen and many ‘must see’ sites. We economised and selected small double room which was perfectly adequate. Norway often has breakfast and dinner included. Both were varied, tasty and fresh - saved a lot , leaving more to spend elsewhere. Building is fabulous / recommend climbing to the top of the tower for great view and to appreciate its maritime connections. Slightly shabby decor in places, if that offends you, but didn’t trouble us one bit! Loved the autographs they have collected from famous guests. They have luggage storage if you want to stay a little while before picking up the airports right outside the front door. Fabulous!

This is a majestic, regal property perfectly situated right in the waterfront. Noice could be an issue with the windows open, but not at all with them closed. We had an early train from Bergen, so the staff arranged for us to have a breakfast package to take with us.

Comfortable stay in a great location
We stayed here prior to going on the Viking Homelands cruise. The flybussen (airport bus) dropped us right outside. The included breakfast was excellent as was the light dinner of soup, salad and main dish. The location is perfect being right next to Bryggen and an easy walk to the fish market, the funicular and 18 minutes to the train station and a short walk to the cruise terminal. Rooms are small but very comfortable and there is a lovely sitting area downstairs with a bar. Highly recommend this hotel.

The included “light evening meal” had a great salad bar as well as spaghetti or stew and was more than enough to eat - a pleasant surprise and a nice savings as well as convenient for one night. The furniture in the room could use some updating but the staff was excellent.

Well located hotel with friendly staff and good dining options. The room was a good size but suffered from poor ventilation and no air conditioning. The bathroom fan did not work. So overall the room was hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. It was more refreshing in the corridor. The window opened slightly but the street was noisy until late a night.

Nice hotel. The reason I did not rate it higher is that there no air conditioning. It was uncomfortable for sleeping because we had to keep the window open over the street which was very noisy. Otherwise, a very classy facility.

Easily accessed, bus stop right outside the door and the amazing inclusion of a huge breakfast, pancakes at 4pm and a light supper with delicious options. Plus right on the port road with walking to everything!

Perfect location in Bergen and you won’t go hungry at this hotel between the amazing breakfast buffet, afternoon snack and light dinner (all included in your stay)..You cannot beat the location and the staff was incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend!
