Accommodation in Gamleby

if you're thinking about a trip to Gamleby, it would be smart to get organising weeks in advance. There's just 1 hotel within 10 kilometres.

The STF Överum Vandrarhem may be your only option if you are keen on staying near the action.

If you'd like to go to some close by localities, try Vastervik and Vimmerby. Journey 25 kilometres to the southeast of Gamleby and you'll discover Vastervik. That said, Vimmerby is 40 kilometres to the southwest. Hotels and apartments in Vastervik include the Best Western Plus Vasterviks Stadshotell and Centralhotellet. The Björkbackens Karaktärshotell and Best Western Vimmerby Stadshotell are some of the options in Vimmerby.

Before your Gamleby trip draws to a close, why not spend an afternoon hanging out with Kalmar sports fans at a local game? Saab Arena is located to the northwest of Gamleby. The Scandic Frimurarehotellet and the Scandic Linköping City are top options if you hope to hit the hay nearby.

Saab Airport is the most practical airport, and is located 65 kilometres away from the centre of Gamleby. Nearby accommodations are the Best Western Plus Priceless Hotel and the Elite Stora Hotellet Linköping.

Gamleby Hotell

4 / 5
The hotel itself only has 13 rooms, I think. The breakfast is pretty good, the staff are friendly and helpful. The front desk is only staffed a couple of hours during the day, so make sure you get the code to enter the hotel. I had just missed the summer 'peak', so there were only 2 restaurants open within easy walking distance. I only went to the Montecristo Restaurant. The food was good and the staff very friendly. My Visa card wouldn't work when I went to pay, so we worked it out in US dollars. Public transportation is limited and confusing, especially if you don't speak Swedish. But the Troll Hike was a LOT of fun. And I enjoyed the peace and quiet for a couple of days.
