I travel 2-3 times a month for my daughter’s dance. I have stayed in many VRBOs, and would say I’m rather picky. This VRBO experience was by far the best I have yet experienced.
From the outset, the parking lot has many open spaces, the apartment was easy to access. We walked in and it was freshly cleaned, smelled amazing, and was clearly a recent gut rehab, with everything brand new.
The kitchen was stocked with snacks, every appliance (air fryer, microwave, toaster, toaster oven), and every utensil you could need. The bathrooms had emergency kits, cotton balls, qtips, feminine products, shower and bath products, hair dryer etc. The closets were stocked with hangers and were huge. Every small touch was present.
While near restaurants and businesses, the apartment was incredibly quiet, but well lit and felt very safe.
While there, tropical storm Beryl hit. The owner was attentive, responsive, kind, accommodating, and understanding. In a time of incredible stress and difficulty, the owner was the one shining light. While the apartment was really wonderful on its own, the experience of dealing with such an incredible human when going through such a trying experience, was really amazing. And, gave us a refund when we left early.
We had power eventually (host hotel did not) so other families were able to come stay with us. This place was our temporary home, and we were able to leave a night of memories (and some boardgames) behind.
