Great rooms
Took a while to find the hotel. Located next to yamama gold souk. Neighbourhood isn't very good but comfort and room cleanliness is excellent. Would highly recommend for families. Easy to find taxis to get around. Booked royal suite which had 2 big bedrooms ensuite and a sitting room. Check in/out very swift.

The staff at the Golden Hotel were courteous and helpful at all times. This was my first trip to Jeddah which was mad most enjoyable by the staff at the Golden Hotel. I ordered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel on a number of occasions. The food was excellent. I will be returning to Jeddah shortly, staying once again at the Golden Hotel........

Right quality for Money
Much different (below) to other Mercure Hotels. Airport pick-up service, acceptable lobby or wifi on the rooms are probably the major missing points. Reception and surrounding neighborhood are definitively bad. On the other hand, rooms are new, clean and comfortable (if you can miss safe box, iron set,complimentary water and tea pot and minibar) and Internet access (wired) is good. Rates are good for the general rooms quality.

Older hotel and a little grimy
The hotel is next to one of the biggest gold markets in Jeddah, Souk Yamama, a good one to remember so you can direct the taxi drivers, who don't know where it is. The facilities are fairly basic, but adequate with 24 hour room service etc. However the rooms were a little dirty and there was cosmetic damage i.e. shower mould, chair damage to walls etc, which made it feel rather run-down. Wireless internet was useless, it came and went constantly. Definitely connect through the ethernet cables in the rooms.
