An amazing hotel. We had an easy check in. A beer followed by an excellent meal. The staff were amazing and the other guests were charming. They do allow dogs. If you are into fly fishing, they are on the banks of the river Tweed and a path and steps lead you down. We intend on going back for a longer stay

Could be a lot better without much more effort.
Staff friendly but many untrained and little things could’ve been better eg afternoon tea but didn’t have any biscuits. Evening meal ok, special excellent, steak needs to be much better. Had tea in our room on the first night, but nothing replaced! Bed very comfy 10/10 Shower ok, should’ve asked for a cubicle as my wife and I no longer supple. Overall ok The grounds are great and you must visit the beautiful Abbey ruins.

On the night we were staying the hotel had to cope with a power cut covering quite a large area surrounding it. They dealt with it very well and served us all a perfectly acceptable menu of cold items. All the staff were positive and helpful and created a very friendly and fun atmosphere….well done to the whole team!

We were very disappointed with the dining room for dinner. The tables looked like a cheap cafe; we were served someone else’s order and I was given a soup spoon with my dessert. The young staff were willing, but not well-trained. Our room was very pleasant but the tap at the basin wobbled and the water in the shower was so hot we had to abandon having a shower because we couldn’t turn it down. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and the grounds were stunning.

The property was excellent apart from the Bathroom door not closing fully. This did not distract from our overall opinion of the Hotel and the Staff. The view overlooking the River Tweed was exceptional and we would certainly use the hotel again.

The hotel is situated in its own grounds off the main road. Bar and dining areas were fine, offering fairly standard fare. The room was clean and comfortable but not luxurious.

What a lovely place. Off the beaten track, but well worth finding. Has proper old time charm but is in excellent condition. Room was a generous size, bed was comfy, bathroom was clean. Meal choice was super and the quality matched. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
