A 15 minute drive from the Shepherds Huts in one direction will bring you to the Magilligan Ferry and for a 10 euro fee per car the ferry will transport you to the beautiful picturesque peninsula of Inishowen set in county of Donegal in a matter of minutes - here you can sample fresh seafood, rugged beaches and cosy Irish pubs with traditional Irish music. A 15 minute drive in the other direction will bring you to Derry/Londonderry City of Culture, where you can catch an array of events such as The Foyle Maritime Festival or The Halloween Carnival (voted the best place in the world for Halloween by USA Today.) The city also has unique history which you can explore at every corner and it played a focal point in the ‘Northern Ireland Troubles’ ‘World War 2’ and ‘The Spanish Armada’.
