NOEC is a self catering bunkhouse style accommodation that you will find perched on the side of the Nantyr hills tucked deep in the Ceiriog Valley in the heart of North Wales. The centre sits about 2.5 miles west of the sleepy little village of Glyn Ceiriog and about 6 miles south west of Llangollen.
The Centre is equipped to accommodate approximately 20 people within the building. There is also a self-contained camping area for tented accommodation with exclusive use of the external toilet and shower block (at additional cost).
The centre is fully equipped for wheelchair users with full wheelchair access throughout the building with purpose built toilet and washing facilities.
The sleeping accommodation is divided into 4 rooms, two rooms sleeping two in bunk-beds and two dorms each with 4 bunk-beds sleeping 8 people, providing in total enough sleeping accommodation for 20 people.
Cloakroom, Ample space to hang jackets, hats and muddy boots.
In the main entrance area you will find a washing machine for all those muddy clothes.
The centre has a Male, Female and Disabled Toilet and Shower Wet-rooms.
Communication:
• Directly outside the front gate is a Royal Mail postbox.
The Kitchen is fully equipped to cater for large groups:
• 7 ring gas cooker with 3 ovens and a grill.
• American style large Fridge/Freezer
• Microwave oven
• Double Toaster
• Kettle
The dining room can comfortably seat 20 people on two movable large tables with the use of folding chairs.
Outside Seating areas:
•3 Picnic tables sit on the dorms paved area.
• Lounge Patio area with garden furniture and wood burner.
• To the rear is a covered seated area with tables.
The cozy but functional lounge has two large corner sofas. Several bean-bags and additional seating.
• Large 52” Flat-screen TV
• Mini Hi-fi sound system.
• Selection of DVD’s.
• Game console with a selection of games.
In our Library you will find both fictional and factual books, but also numerous board games and a large selection of Vinyl records that can be used on the Bluetooth record player.
To the rear of the property stands the new toilet and shower block that has 4 shower cubicles and 3 toilet cubicles specifically for those in tented or Motorhome accommodation (at additional cost and needs to be booked prior to arrival).
Attached to the toilet block is the large Drying-room for those that need to dry wet clothing and specialist equipment, (see above).
There is ample parking for 5 vehicles in the top car-park and space for a further 3 vehicles in the lower car-park. There is also a hard-standing area for two motor-homes.
The area has loads to offer for those seeking everything from high adrenaline sports such as white-water rafting/canoeing, mountain biking, motor-cross and rock climbing to more tranquil pastimes such as horse riding, fishing and hill walking to mention a few.
The local village of Llangollen offers a bit of everything with it’s scenic steam railway, horse-drawn canal boats, white-water activities and numerous shops, cafes, bars and restaurants as well as a newish Aldi and Home bargains stores for all your grocery needs.
Slightly further afield is Snowdonia National park (30miles to the west) with some of the most stunning, breathtaking scenery to be had anywhere in the UK with Mount Snowdon at it’s heart. Within the National park you will also find Zipworld with Europe’s longest Zip slide along with numerous other wild attractions.
Liverpool and Birmingham sit within easy reach to the east and for family fun, Alton Towers Theme Park is within a 2 hours drive near Strike.
