Not the best hotel
Older hotel undergoing some much needed renovation. Some seedy customers in lower wing. Deranged man sprayed entire hall with fire extinguishers claiming snipers were chasing him.

The carpets and elevator in the back are trashed . The back door, which is the main entrance after parking in the back, will not lock and is easily accessed by anyone without a key card. The door has no locking mechanism at all. The shape of the hotel has gone down considerably since the last time I stayed there.

Room for improvement but staff is nice...
First room smelled like animal urine so nadly that we requested to change rooms. And the staff was very accomodatong and quickly moved us. The second room was soooo much better. But it did kind of change how it felt... The elevator was hot and slow... wasnt very nice. The breafast was complimentary but it was so crowded there wasnt anywhere to sit... and the other guests were very pushy and kept stepping in front of my kids and I. Ive stayed at La Quinta hotels before and it wasnt like this. Definitely wont be staying at this particular one again.

The positives were that our room was clean and appeared to be recently renovated with its modern design and very large TV. However, the main hallway and lobby seemed old and ugly with many stains on the carpet. Also, the door at the end of the hallway does not lock, which was a safety concern. Overall good value for what we payed.

I had to come into Austin for a family medical emergency. It just happened to be the weekend of F-1 race AND UT vs Georgia football. My room rate (usually $119/nt) ballooned to $500 a night Friday and Saturday. The breakfast was good and the room clean and basic.

Buyer Beware!!
Horrible. No cold water in the shower. Kept promising to fix it, but never did. No room service. No refridgerator or microwave. Fitness center was closed. Building was under construction and outside door was never secured. Mosquitos were in our room. Also, the faucet dripped hot water for the entire time we stayed so all of our clothes were damp. They refused to refund even part of my stay, because they said I stayed the entire length of my reservation, but every time I asked, they said the manager wasn’t around until the last day I was there.
